I’m Alfred, a fledgling BIPOC game designer from southern New England. This space started a personal challenge to improve my writing, but it suddenly evolved into a journey into amateur game development.

At its core, placeholder is a blog dedicated to the hobby of board games, video games, and tabletop roleplaying games. Here you’ll find all sorts of words about the topic strung together: research on how our favorite games came to be, the experiences we have with them, as well as anecdotes from my game development escapades.

Maybe one day I’ll find a better name for this? For now, it’s just a placeholder!
